Diet – Healthy vs. Decay
Encourage healthy eating habits to include a diet with plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and serve nutritious snacks. Frequent snacking may mean frequent acid attacks and an increased risk for tooth decay.
When we eat food or drink beverages that contain sugar, or high fructose corn syrup, the bacteria produce acids that can attack the tooth enamel. The stickiness of plaque keeps the harmful acids against the teeth, which can contribute to tooth decay.
