John Woell

Dr. John Woell was inspired by his grandfather and uncle who encouraged dentistry as a healing profession.  He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.  Other mentors for Dr. Woell in the field of dentistry would be the retired partners of Dental Health Care Center, Dr. John Erickson and Dr. Leonard Arndt, whom were instructors at the U of M as well.

Dr. Woell treats patients with a vision of maintaining each individual’s oral health for an entire lifetime. This requires a comprehensive approach which includes assessing one’s medical, periodontal, orthodontic, and restorative needs. He trained early in his professional career to diagnose and treat patients having malocclusion problems with orthodontic therapy. He is certified in CEREC, Clear Braces, and Perio Protect, and is a member of the Seattle Study Club whose objective is to use a multidisciplinary approach in treating complex dental conditions.

In addition, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the St. Paul District Dental Society.  He has also volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul for many years.  He believes in giving back and has been a team member of Programa San Francisco De Asis Sonrisa on the cleft palate team for years, along with his wife Marcia.  This medical team has treated more than 5,000 cleft lip/palate children in Peru.  In recent years, he has been involved with mission trips to treat children and adults for their dental needs in the Gris Gris community of Haiti.

Outside the dental office, his passion is for bicycling, skiing, hunting, fishing, traveling, and family activities with his wife, their four children and three grandchildren.

Long Thao

I knew dentistry was the right course for me when I began shadowing dental offices during my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, which then led to a degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Being a dentist is the perfect blend of working with people and applying three subjects I have always enjoyed: engineering, art and science. Born, raised and still residing in Minneapolis/Richfield, I believe in building trust with people of my community and creating relationships to best provide the comprehensive dental care needed and desired.

I am a member of the American Dental Association and Minnesota Dental Association. I have worked with children as young as 6 months old all the way to seniors 102 years old. I truly appreciate dentistry in its entirety.

Aside from dentistry, I enjoy fishing, football and disc golf as hobbies. I am a proud Eagle Scout of Troop 100 in Minneapolis where I remain active as a leader. Lastly, I love spending time with friends and family, especially my wife and daughter.

Lisa Cashin – Retired

Dr. Lisa Cashin was the first in her family to enter the dental field.  She was inclined toward dentistry because she loved working with her hands and working with people.  Dr. Cashin graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in psychology and then the University of MN School of Dentistry.  She also taught in the dental school pre-clinical area after her graduation for 3 years, while working as an associate in a few dental practices in the metro area.  Dr. Cashin bought her own practice in Richfield from Dr. Roy A Johnson before joining Dental Health Care Center in 1985.  She continues to further her dental education so she can provide her patients, of all ages, with comprehensive treatment using the latest techniques.

Dr. Cashin treats patients with cosmetic restorations, including CEREC crowns which are made in the office during a single visit.  She also performs comfortable root canal treatments and extractions when needed.  When implant treatment has been completed with a specialist, Dr. Cashin provides the final ceramic crown and bridgework.  If implants are not an option for the patient, she will provide them with a well-fitted partial or denture.  Dr. Cashin is also a certified clear braces provider, enabling her to give minor orthodontic care to adults as part of a cosmetic treatment plan when needed, or desired, by her patients.  In addition, Dr. Cashin is a certified Perio Protect provider.  This is another treatment modality of homecare therapy to those patients with ongoing gum disease issues. She continues to enjoy giving care to her diverse and multi-generational patients with gentle hands.

Dr. Cashin is a member of several dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the MN Dental Association, the Minneapolis Distric Dental Association, The Southside Comprehensive Dental Study Club and the Bloomington Study Club.  She has volunteered for the MN Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile Day, and Feed Our Starving Children for years.

In addition, Dr. Cashin enjoys an active family life with her husband, Chuck and two sons, Matt and Shane.  She also loves to travel and relax up north at their cabin with friends and family.
